A Great Man

Pastor Bob Rohdenburg - A Great Man

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you - our friends, supporters and colleagues - that long-time pastor, activist and OCCCO leader in Garden Grove, Pastor Bob Rohdenburg, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Pastor Bob was battling a virulent form of brain cancer called Glio Blastema Multiforma. His widow Cynthia said that Pastor Bob was surrounded by family and at peace at the very end.

Bob had been a dedicated pastor and OCCCO board member for many years. He remained passionate about justice and the role of the church in public life up until the very end.

He was particularly passionate about the accessibility of healthcare for everyone, having witnessed the dysfunction of the healthcare system through his son's experience as a doctor and his own experience as a patient. Bob challenged OCCCO both with his vision and with the depth of his faith reflections. He had a profound role in shaping OCCCO and he will be deeply missed. Pastor Bob is survived by his wife Cynthia, son Paul, daughter Denise, and a granddaughter.
