Today, I was waiting at a signal to cross the street when I noticed a white pigeon with black spots on its feathers getting a drink from a puddle of water by the curb. I wondered if the black spots were black feathers or if they were just dirt on his white wings and head. As I watched the bird proceeded to step into the puddle of water and take a bath. None of the spots washed off.

This scene brought to mind the black spots we each bear in the way of sins. Satan is gleefully waiting with his temptations to paint more spots on us. But we are blessed, we don't have to carry these black spots with us through out our life. We are washed "white as snow" when we repent and ask God's forgiveness. The Lord's Prayer says "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9)

With God's guidance and help He will give us the strength to refrain from continuing in our sinful ways. Read Luke 15:4-10. The parable that says "There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance" "I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." God will give us peace and we will enjoy a closer relationship with Him. God is a loving and forgiving God. No matter how big or small the sin, He will replace it with love and forgiveness.

Isn't God's love for us awesone? Come join me in prayer that God will help us all to be white pigeons and not speckled with the black spots of sin. Remember white acts as a reflector. We can reflect God's Love. Let's light up the world.
