Fully Rely on God!

My nine year old granddaughter, Caitlin, drew a picture of her pet frog and sent it to the Kids Zoo Magazine. To her delight it was printed and they sent her a letter with directions showing how to look at it on the computer. It also gave me an opportunity to explain to her how FROG also meant "FULLY RELY ON GOD". One year my youth group made little paper frogs to give to the children at the Ronald McDonald House. Please allow me to share what I told Caitlin.

God gave us a way to communicate with Him and with each other. When we are born we communicate by crying. If we are hungry, uncomfortable, want something we learn to cry to get attention. When we get older, we learn to talk. God gave us ears to hear with, eyes to see with, a nose to smell with and a mouth to use to talk, smile and eat with. Besides all these things he gives us a whole body to be thankful for. When we learn to talk we can communicate with our parents, and anyone we meet. Aren't you glad we can talk with each other?

It makes GOD happy to have us talk to Him. He is waiting every day to hear from us. We don't have to be in a certain place to talk to Him. We don't have to get down on our knees to talk to Him. We can talk to Him wherever we are or whatever we are doing. God wants to hear from us every day. We don't have to set a time to talk to Him. All we have to do is stop and talk to Him. He will be waiting to hear from us. He is listening 24/7.

The Bible says: "Come unto me all who are heavy laden and I will give you peace." If we do something we shouldn't have done, if we ask God to forgive us and we repent for doing it, He will forgive us and we will find peace. God is always waiting to help us in time of need. We can go to Him with prayer asking His help with any problems in our life. The Bible says: "Ask and you shall receive." Maybe not at the very minute you ask, but at God's planned time your prayers will be answered. He doesn't always give us what we ask for because He knows it is not the best thing for us. You have to make God a part of your life and the only way you can do that is to take everything to him in prayer.

Don't forget to thank God for all the blessings he has given us. He is our Best Friend and we must not forget to give Him thanks. He wants to hear how much we love Him and appreciate all He does for us; Matthew says: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you". Take everything in your life to God in prayer. "All things what so ever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive." Matthew 21:22. You can fully rely (which means trust) that He will answer you and give you what is best for you. Have faith and you will feel his presence in your heart and your life: FROG — Fully Rely On God.

I am sure that every time Caitlin looks at her frog now she will be reminded of this lesson and I give thanks to God and Zoo magazine for giving me this opportunity to explain "FROG" to her.
