This is a day that I will never forget. My 4 year old son and I went to Hillcrest Park to feed the ducks. He was delighted when they came and ate from his hand. After he finished feeding the ducks we went to the park area where there were swings, slides, see-saws, and hills to run up and down. As little children play it suddenly occurs to them that they need to find the restrooms.

The restroom had a small high open vent-like window and while he was looking up at the window, he said, "Mama, I bet Jesus can see us through that window because he is so big and tall." He was just beginning to learn about Jesus. I laughed and said to him, "Roy, Jesus doesn't have to look through a window to see us. His spirit is right here with us and if you say you love Him and believe in Him, He will come into your heart. He will help you be a good boy. Someday He will take you to heaven where you will be with him."

"Will you be there too, Mama," he asked. "Yes," I said, "I have already asked Jesus to come into my heart." After thinking about this for a minute, he said, "OK, I love Jesus and want him to come into my heart." Then he noticed my purse on the floor and he said "Make the purse say it loves Jesus too. "How do you make a purse talk?" I asked him. "Just wiggle the handle back and forth" he said. So I moved the handle a few times. When I stopped, he said, "Did the purse say it loves Jesus too?" "Yes, I guess so," I answered. Without a minute's hesitation, he said, "THEN OPEN UP THE PURSE SO I CAN SEE JESUS INSIDE."

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all had the perfect unquestioning faith of a 4 year old. For nothing is impossible where children are concerned. He taught me that day what truly trusting in the promise of God means. If we only open our hearts and believe, child-like, our faith will grow and become a reflection of Jesus, God's son. Only through trust in God can we truly find peace and strength to face the problems of daily life and know that God will carry us through all the rough waters of life and be with us always and never forsake us. It just proves that children are never too young to be told about God's Saving Grace.

This purse is retired to my treasure chest of memories. It reminds me of the faith of a little boy who knew Jesus was inside it because I told him of God's promise to come into our hearts if we believe and have faith in His word. God's love is our only hope for today, tomorrow and always. Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow is my song of faith.
