Romans 12:5: "We, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another."

After our Fellowship time today we will be joining our Latino brothers and sisters for a time to talk about membership. We have four women who have been members for all 60 years of this church's life. These charter members remind us of the importance of membership commitment. At 10:30 we have Sunday school, Nursery care and Youth classes, and will serve lunch for all at 11:30.

On New Years Day, January 1st (a Sunday this year!), long term members will be invited to begin the New Year by renewing their vows along with new people who will be deciding to make OUMC their home church.

These are the vows of membership:

  1. Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and pledge your allegiance to his kingdom? I do.
  2. Do you receive and profess the Christian Faith as contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments? I do.
  3. Do you promise according to the grace given you to live a Christian Life and always remain a faithful member of Christ's holy Church? I do.
  4. Will you be loyal to the United Methodist Church and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service and witness? I will.

I am excited about our growing congregation, and you are an important part of it. Please pray about this step in your walk with the Lord!
