Parish Board of Trustees – January 11, 2011
Meeting Summary
This is the year for GRUMC to have the leadership role. The new chairperson will be announced for next month's meeting.
- In attendance: Raymond Ahn, Mr. Lim, Mr. Kim, Pastor Christopher Jun, Barbara Johnson, Janice Fowler, Pastor Tom Griffith, Donna McCarrell, Nedda Soriano, Jo Menely, Joseph LaRoche, Tommy Appleton, James Shin, Jay Park, Pastor Sergio Camacho, Donna Daniels.
- Pastor Tom reviewed the December 2010 Financial report. We finished the year in the black with a balance of $12,760.82, of which $3,040.69 will be used to pay off the negative balance in the Signage account and $9,720.13 will go into the Growth Fund.
- Concerns about the lighting for the choir have been addressed and it had been voted to replace several bulbs with higher wattage, plus wiring has been changed so that the electrical panel can be operated from the rear of the church by the sound booth.
- A new sound system has been installed, through a donation by GRUMC. There has been a training session for those involved and the hearing aid system is now functioning. There will be another training session January 13. We need additional help with the "hearing impaired" part of this new system.
- Bids are being taken for the replacement of two heater/AC units which take care of the conference room and the narthex. This issue will be decided at the next meeting.
- Our cleaning service is being evaluated. If you have any comments about the service and the apearance and cleanliness of the facilitiy, please contact Sharyl Lewis or Barbara Johnson.
- A proposed budget for 2011 will be presented and discussed at the February meeting.
- A large wooden cross has been purchased and will be placed in the chapel at the back of the pulpit area. This is a donation in the memory of Jay Park's mother and the mother-in-law of Raymond Ahn. She was a member of the Grace River congregation.
- The chapel projector was removed for repair in November and is still awaiting the arrival of a part. After some discussion, it was agreed that we would meet again January 16 to hear about bids and take action.
- It was agreed to spend $250 to install gutters around the Chapel, Heritage Room, and Latino Ministry office.
- The Fire Department made its annual inspection. The alcove in the Sanctuary needs to be completely cleared out as this is an Emergency Exit and we can not store any items there. Also, we need to complete the Lock Box mounting on the outside of the building. This will allow the Fire Department access to the buildings in case of a fire.
- The meetings will now take place at 7 p.m. on the same second Tuesday of each month.

Parish Board of Trustees – January 16, 2011
Meeting Summary
A special meeting of the PBOT was held after church on Sunday, January 16th. This was held to learn the cost of a new projector for the chapel which is used by both the Latino and GRUMC congregations. It was determined from the costs presented that a new, more powerful projector should be purchased, rather than spending money to repair an older, less effective projector. An expenditure of $1,679 to install this projector was approved. We will go with the same vendor that is installing the new sound system. It will be installed very soon.
